a short break in Cheung Chau Island…

by roniel

sunny weather, fresh air and enjoying the break with your love one!  everytime i go to cheung chau, i always go to this family owned restaurant where they serve my favorite drink – ice cold fresh lemon orange juice! the best drink in summer! I’m dont remember the exact name of the restaurant’s name… but its on the left side of the island (haha… not really good with names…)

Pretty cool to check out the zoos or see animals from time to time, we dont see much here in Hong Kong. We came here to watch the circus which is at night so quite cool … but need to make sure that the weather is good coz you wont really see much if it was raining…

afternoon break at the Gold Coast

by roniel

It wasn’t a perfect weather but we had a nice break at the gold coast! It’s always nice to see these kind of stalls that sell interesting stuff… its just comfortable and a good place for a short break out of the busy city areas… highly recommend to go on a ‘sunny’ day!

Lamma Island: A Blue Sky

by roniel

A special sunny day on Lamma Island. No need to tell but this is obviously not taken in this month as its getting pretty cold in Hong Kong now – the temperature up to this day is 17 degrees which is quite good. it is not easy to get blue skies in Hong Kong these days due to the pollution by factories located in Dongguan, China – so when there is such a great day like this – you would not want to waste it. One of the mot popular routines in Lamma Island is walking from one end to the other end of the island – so people have a choice to take the ferry and get off ‘Sok Kwu Wan’ or ‘Yung Shu Wan’. Normally people get off Sok Kwu Wan coz there are more things to see such as nice boutique shops selling interesting stuff and souvenirs – and apart from shops, you will find very nice restaurants in Sok Kwu Wan too.

It is highly recommended place to place to visit for one day getaway!

Macau: The House of Dancing Water

by roniel

A cool Christmas present I’ve received for 2012 – A super extravaganza show I’ve seen so far @ the City of Dreams in Macau! I must give it a thumbs up! The show was really nice and I couldn’t resist taking out my camera from my bag and take some good shots of it for memory! Well, the tickets were not cheap (HKD 880, around AUD 110) but it was really worth watching – the best thing was that the company paid for me and wife’s tickets:) which made the whole experience even more memorable! hurray!

Baolinsi @ Shunde China 寶林寺

by roniel

Just came back from this very nice place in China, called Shunde. It is located in the Guangdong area of China and its around 3 hours journey from Hong Kong. We took the ferry from Hong Kong to Shunde and an extra 1-hour drive to 寶林寺. This is just a nice quiet temple and it is described by locals as the pride of Shunde people. I’ll be posting in my next posts more photos of this place.

Entrance gods of the temple!

Lake Egret Nature Park @ Tai Po

by roniel

First time to check this nice place located in Tai Po – it is not near the train station so you might need to take a cab from the station to this nice place. It is quiet around the lake and having a short walk before having BBQ at the rooftop restaurant.

there is this very nice white house at the middle of the lake where a lot of couples take nice pre-wedding photos… we could book this little house for a romantic dinner for two.

the Palace, bangkok

by roniel

I got an afternoon to visit the Grand Palace and to have a chance to glance through the previous home of the King. the whole palace was really very beautiful and we could even see the marvelous architecture. I was amazed with how the thai’s choice of colors – really colorful. I also really liked that the tourists would show their respect and wear long pants and the ladies would wear clothes that also cover the arms and legs – it was quite hot that day so wearing long pants was really quite hot.

I must say that the matching gold with plenty of colors does match the buildings and even makes it sort of mysterious feeling as well as having a ‘grand’ feeling. I would definitely visit the palace again when I visit Bangkok next time~
