Shenzhen airport

by roniel

It’s my first time at Shenzhen airport and to my surprise, the airport is really nice! Nice well designed and I think it might even be better than HK international airport.

Guangzhou Xiangjian Safari Park @ Chimelong Resort, Southern China

by roniel

Pretty cool to check out the zoos or see animals from time to time, we dont see much here in Hong Kong. We came here to watch the circus which is at night so quite cool … but need to make sure that the weather is good coz you wont really see much if it was raining…

Baolinsi @ Shunde China 寶林寺

by roniel

Just came back from this very nice place in China, called Shunde. It is located in the Guangdong area of China and its around 3 hours journey from Hong Kong. We took the ferry from Hong Kong to Shunde and an extra 1-hour drive to 寶林寺. This is just a nice quiet temple and it is described by locals as the pride of Shunde people. I’ll be posting in my next posts more photos of this place.

Entrance gods of the temple!

a half-day in Macau

by roniel

Macau is always fun for a short-trip: its near, the balance of new and old buildings, and there are always new casinos! Such endless fun! Had a looked at the Galaxy for the first time – didn’t gamble – but cruised around the casinos floors to check out if there is anything different. Well, to be honest, it wasn’t really that interesting although the appearance was superb. It is not as classy and high-end as Wynn and not as interesting as the Venetian – there were not really much things to take photos (OK, I know a casino is a place where we can gamble).

Walking along the streets of Macau is amazing – I really love the streets of Macau. It can be crowded on the weekends with lots of tourists here and there – but it can also be quiet if you can get a chance to go there on the weekdays.

Photos taken outside Wynn – it was my first time to walk around the fountain outside the Wynn casino so I was quite impressed to see the nice view of the Macau tower and the bridge to Coloane. Try go there during sunset – it’s a scene I highly recommend.

the future bowling museum

by roniel

took a short family holiday and stayed at the Zhuhai resort hotel – found out that we can have this one free bowling session for us to enjoy on our one night stay! what a treat! i’m not a super fan of bowling but i do enjoy the sport especially becoz of an influence of a friend (yes, its you!) i tried the bowling facilities in HK and I know that many have very advanced facilities but I always think the best thing about bowling is the fun it brings to us! the facility in this location is really very old fashion and the bowling balls were a bit old and the floor weren’t even waxed – well, it didn’t really affect out mood – we had lots of fun!

Note: please make sure that you don’t mistaken the points in the photos :p….. not mine lol!!

sweet pineapple on the Jiangmun highway

by roniel

We see a lot of these hawkers selling pineapple along the highway roads – we saw them like in every 100m. Locals know that they have the sweetest pineapples around China and that we couldn’t get these ‘little’ pineapples in Hong Kong. Eventually, we stopped and chose the hawker stand that looked clean – (you know what its like in China – you just have to be careful).

Man, this was the best pineapple I have had! Wonderful sweet taste! But the funny thing was – our driver told us that if you think its too delicious there might be a chance that the farmers might have added some chemicals – haha! you just have to laugh! Well – I’m still ok so I guess we shouldn’t think too much. I’ll definitely stop again next time for more…!!!

A memorable trip to GuangDong Jiuzhaigou

by roniel

It was such a memorable trip with my best buddies to this wonderful place in the Guangdong province of China. This amazing place is known as “Guangdong’s Jiuzhaigou”. There are lots of waterfalls and mountains sights in this area – and I couldn’t stop taking photos – everything I see in this place is just worth every penny I spent. The people in the village were also nice to the tourists which made me feel a lot more comfortable and relaxed!

cultural village in Nienzhou: most of the men smoke and I couldn’t resist taking a picture of this natural scene

the villagers welcomed all the visitors with a welcome drink made of local rice wine

beijing: my favorite spots

by roniel

saw the news the other day about the installation of CCTV cams in the Forbidden City and decided to take my hard-drive and post some photos I took in Beijing, I know what BJ looks like but I was quite surprised to find some pics  were a clean shot – I mean there were nobody blocking the scenery when I took it – I mean its CHINA! That’s pretty amazing to take photos without so many people blocking the way… I guess I can’t these kind of photos next time… (makes me want to take out my passport and just go…ha!)

my choice of the photos i like:

the great wall of china! i always love to come here when i talk about beijing. it’s such a remarkable and amazing location! you’ll just never get bored of climbing the long stairs and looking at the landscape scenery.

i love this view from the forbidden city! i just need to remember where we standing when i took this image…

the emperor of china walked through this alley… and i see nobody…

i like the colors of this photo…

wow… really first time i see nobody!

next time i’ll bring my own too… very good idea!
